Post Office joins Help to Buy

The Post Office has signed up with the government's Help to Buy initiative.

Individuals seeking mortgages in order to get a foot on the UK housing ladder could receive a boost following the news the Post Office has joined the government's Help to Buy scheme.

Working in partnership with Bank of Ireland UK, the Post Office is now expanding the number of mortgage specialists operating in its branches to help to provide useful advice to those keen to purchase a new home.

It represents an ongoing commitment by the organisation to change the way mortgages are sold to customers across the UK, ensuring people have a genuine alternative to the major high street lenders when it comes to what is likely to be one of the largest financial commitments of their lives.

John Willcock, head of mortgages at the Post Office, said: "Joining the Help to Buy scheme is the latest in a series of steps to affirm the Post Office as the go-to mortgage provider for those wanting to get their first foot on the property ladder."
